Designer Feature – Heather Moore!

Hello everyone!

Happy Tuesday & welcome back to the RT blog. If you are a lover of unique, designer fabric, today’s post is sure to inspire! We’ve come across the lovely work of designer Heather Moore, who started small selling her papercuts & screenprints from her personal studio in 2007. By 2012, Heather had set up shop with a creative team under the name Skinny laMinx, based in Cape Town, SA.

While Skinny laMinx has a wonderful variety of products, we wanted to focus on fabric in today’s post to really capture the surface pattern element of Heather’s designs. Describing their own style, Skinny laMinx team say, “We are all about midcentury style, scandi-inspired, japanese-crazed pattern & colour, with a dose of African chic thrown in for good measure.”

To give you some creative inspiration, we’ve picked some of our favourite images from their fabric page that capture the distinctive style they mention above. Each pattern is wonderfully unique, some with bold colours, others with pale or muted; some with geometric shapes & some with organic & floral; & some that are a perfect mixture of these elements!

No matter what your taste, we think there’s a little inspo below for everyone – as Rachael always says, creativity comes from lots of fun places, so we love to share it when we see it! To see even more fab products & surface pattern designs from SLM, be sure to check out the link above!
